Olam - bullish Symmetric Triangle breakout

Olam [2010-03-08] - $2.57

Symmetric Triangle breakout observed on increased volume. Small gain is further expected towards resist zone as shown

Potential target - 2.68 (about 4% gain)
Tight stop-loss - 2.48
Validity - 1 week or upon breaking of support/resist

2010-11-20 Olam Int'l [$3.16]

- daily MACD formed a sharp divergence between Oct~Nov period as shown
- this leads to an initial fall below immediate uptrend line (dotted)
- recent recovery may not last for long and eventually head lower towards main support along $2.80+ level

Olam - consolidation below long term MA

2011-10-20 Olam daily chart [$2.32]
  • although it looks like the stock remained in a wild swing manner, it has started to "tone" down within a triangle consolidation
  • trading volume gin general has been declining
  • long term MA remained above closing price
  • this is typically bearish and we may see further fall should the stock breaks below lower uptrend line
